The main permits related to operation of the plant are:
4 September 2013 “Tradable permit for greenhouse gas emissions” pursuant to the Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading Act issued by the Norwegian Environment Agency
3 October 2011 “Consent to handle LNG” pursuant to the Act relating to the Prevention of Fire, Explosion and Accidents issued by the Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning
4 February 2011 “Permit to conduct activity” pursuant to the Pollution Control Act issued by the Norwegian Environment Agency
The LNG plant is also subject to the various requirements of the Major Accident Regulations. The Act relating to Fire and Explosion Protection with associated regulations imposes requirements relating to the safety level of enterprises handling hazardous substances and in particular the duty of information imposed on enterprises involving a high accident potential.
A safety report pursuant to section 9 of the Major Accident Regulations has been submitted to the authorities.
